Apache2 and named based virtual hosts

Well I have gotten the name based virtual hosts working again after reading the documentation. And everything seems to be working. In issuing the command rcapache2 status I get the message: “[warn] NameVirtualHost *:80 has no VirtualHosts” Have checked all the virtual host .conf files and everything seems in order. So where else could the problem be?
