Apache2.2.8-28.4 clean install giving errors when started

Good morning all,
Just installed apache2 from Yast > “Software Management” on fresh install of suse11.0 (kde3.5) and I get the message below.

bgrsvr-y:/ # apache2ctl start
httpd2: Syntax error on line 188 of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Could not open configuration file /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/include.conf: No such file or directory

I figured that as I used a repo, it should exist, perhaps it’s just incorrect permissions or something …

bgrsvr-y:/ # ls -l /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/
total 8
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 267 Dec 9 11:20 global.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1966 Dec 9 11:20 loadmodule.conf

So it really doesn’t exist; how come a clean install doesn’t put all the files on or at least have the right “Include” statements in the core httpd.conf?

Is it just that computers are having their revenge on me and not letting me do ANYTHING now?

Can you execute this command in your terminal:

gedit /etc/apache2/httpd.conf

And paste your config file (with the sensitive data masked) using paste2.org and pass the link to us.

hello, sorry for the slow response; i went into yast and online update, since then it’s worked. kinda wierd but resolved!

hoorah!
