wouldn’t it be (and i do not know for sure) the same one that you
probably have installed on your system, which i think is 8.13

you can check in /usr/share/doc/packages/libpcre0/ChangeLog (or maybe
other files in that same doc section of your hard drive…

and, you are probably able to open YaST Software Manager, search on
apache2 and when it comes up click on the “dependencies” tab and look to
see if libpcre0 is listed, and if so which version…and, i guess it
will be the same version as you have installed…

well…if you are having a problem, state it…OR is that what you did
in your earlier post on “parties responsible”? i read that some hours
ago and hoped someone had a better answer than mine…which i didn’t
wanna write, but i will now (in that thread)

You’re right … in past years my attempts to find information was using this forum as the last resort … that usually means that the tension level was high. My posts were not intuitive or complete making any real help scratching their head.

I’ve decided to build a web site with 12.1 instead of another platform and searching the vendor/developer sites for info on mod_security and a couple of Sec issues referenced that the OS comes with one flavor of PCRE which can be troublesome versus a version developed for Apache(2). I don’t mind that openSuSE doesn’t follow “all” the install formalities as set by … I can see that as a safety/security issue to some extent. My bane is not understanding how the repro installs differs from installing from scratch; until some note I’ve overlooked says that blah file would be here or should have been installed … which of course I can’t seem to find. Also after a number of years on 11.4/11.2, 12.1 introduces another change of methods (or more) to the administration functions.

So … Thank you very much for your time and effort. I’m working my way through it all, as “they” say, “No pain - No gain”!!
