Anyone use unetbootin to install RC2 from a live cd iso?

I have RC2 build 0012 KDE Live x86_64 iso and I’m trying to boot from a usb stick with unetbootin for the first time. I made the .iso file executable, which was just a guess because none of the howto’s I read said which file needed to be made executable.

I have the following choices in my bios:

usb-fdd
usb-zip
usb-cdrom
usb-hdd

I tried usb-fdd first but my machine just booted from the normal partition.

I tried usb-zip and usb-hdd and got “no kernel image found” error.

Does RC2 have the same bug as RC1 using bootable usb flash drive or am I doing something wrong?

Hi
Use SuSE Image Writer;

Hi Pilotgi, I tried and failed miserably to use unetbootin. It does not work! (You don’t have to make anything executable btw).See here > 11.4 RC2 is Available

Try this as root:
> imagewriter
then drag the .iso to the the area, and bingo! A bootable USB openSuse 11.4
HTH,

Thanks for the answers. I installed imagewriter. I wasn’t happy about the fact that it still uses HAL but it worked. I now have a bootable usb stick.
