i’m playing with a cubieboard and installed on it lubuntu and ubuntu but I would like to install opensuse(is the distro I got used to) but not sure exactly how to do it out of the explanations I found. Anyone would be able to explain to a newbie on this? thank you
Hi
Have you see this?
https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:CubieBoard
Think your stuck with 12.3?

Maybe jump on IRC #opensuse-arm channel or the Mailing List?
Thank you malcolmlewis. I read the first link awhile ago but i didn’t really got it at that time how it works. I will give it a try again. so this will install the os(opensuse) on the sd card. what i don’t know is how can i boot now from the sd card. that didn’t work for me when i tried at the beginning. (to use an sd card). so i did was to install the os(for which I found explanations-youtube) on the nand and then moved the os to the harddisk. it worked for ubuntu and lubuntu, but i’m not really used to the updating part of the os(got used to yast). never used IRC channels but i will try. thanks a lot for directions.
i’m under the impression that there is a problem with these repositories when you try to download .
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/ARM:/
it will just show me the page(hieroglyphs)
however i can download from here:
https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:CubieBoard
today i was able to download the file so there was a problem with the repository yesterday. Now i just need to figure out how to use it. well i was able to copy the 13.2 file and xzcat it on the sd card. i just don’t know how to have the cubietruck use it. according to the HCL:Cubieboard i have to connect it via a serial port. i will try that that and if not i will try to get into IRC and see if anyone can help.
