Anybody able to compile Kuickshow for 15.1?

There was a patch for doing so, but I do not have added them.
I will do today and you have to rebuild it new.

All needed packages are her for Leap 15.1:

This is a very old package from the days of kde 3 (if I remember correctly) but I still use it as part of my Tumbleweed installation. I have a copy of the rpm before it was dropped (plus rpm’s of all the required supporting packages). If you send me a pm with your email address I can copy these using WeTransfer to you.

But as previously stated in the thread it is fairly obsolete and completely unsupported.

I’d like to thank you very much, Sauerland!
Kuickshow is a very important application for me that I use every day since years, and thanks to you I can continue to use it!

I owe you something!

And for the XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1

Maybe make an alias in your Users .bashrc…

alias kuickshowx='XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 /usr/bin/kuickshow'
kuickshowx /path/to/jpg

should work…

Can I add my thanks too Sauerland.

I installed your rpm using tumbleweed and it works fine. I had been using my old rpm from when kuickshow was still part of kdegraphics3-imaging from 2012.

Oops forgotten to build…

So here are the Repos:

Thanks again.

The rpm’s for 15.1 worked fine with tumbleweed but I will reinstall with the tumblewed packages.

Hello,

as an alternative to KuickShow, you can install XnView MP (it’s a freeware, looks like the old ACD-See on Windows)?

https://www.xnview.org/en/xnviewmp/#downloads

But, none .rpm is available for openSuse. You can use the AppImage version (tested on Leap 15.1) or the .tgz archive.

Unpack the .tgz archive and use following commands for manual installation:

sudo cp -r XnView/ /opt/
sudo cp XnView/XnView.desktop /usr/share/applications/

How to uninstall if .tgz archive was used:

sudo rm /usr/share/applications/XnView.desktop
sudo rm -r /opt/XnView

Here are rpms:

You can also unzip the tgz and use it without installing by:

xnview.sh
