I was using the repos
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Applications/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/
and
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Frameworks5/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/
but they were removed this weekend according to https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kde/2017-02/msg00016.html .
The message above suggests “42.1 users will still be able to use the LTS variants of and Frameworks at KDE:Frameworks5:LTS”. But the LTS framework packages seem older than what was in the “KDE:/Frameworks5” repo. And what about an equivalent Applications repo ?
Is the official advise for ppl like me to upgrade to 42.2 ? Any other solution
Thank you
The Frameworks are indeed older (though some fixes are/can be backported), Plasma5 is not.
But that repo follows the 5.8.x LTS releases, as the name implies, i.e. the packages will never be upgraded to 5.9.
So the next version in there will be 5.8.6 next week, and there will be further bug fix releases for more than a year to come.
And what about an equivalent Applications repo ?
Impossible.
It wasn’t even possible to build many of the applications for 42.2 any more.
Hence that decision.

If you want to use the latest software versions, you should also use the latest openSUSE release.
42.1 will be out of support in two months anyway.
