Does anyone have any news about RC2? How is it looking? Is the target release date still valid?
Are there many changes to RC1 or just those shown under:-

I don’t have the url handy. I seem to recall that the announcement of a delayed release said that M2 and final releases would be in September. I think August is a vacation month for some of the key opensuse people, so they wanted to wait till the full team is back in place.
In the meantime, remember to do online updates (or other update method) with 12.2 M1. A bunch of updates have been coming through (with a conflict reported for the gtk3 update).
AJ mentioned that RC2 is coming soon. The openSUSE 12.2 Roadmap had it scheduled for Aug.4th. We should see it released in August.
The middle of September is supposed to be the final release to the public. I can’t see them wasting an entire month before the final release. There’s still a lot of work to be done.
We do believe that RC2 will be released on: Thursday, 2 August 2012: openSUSE 12.2 RC 2
Per - openSUSE:Roadmap - openSUSE
Thanks,
Chuck
My RC1 system just told me it has 1,985 updates - looks like the re-compile happened and the next images will appear RSN.

Nope, just the 12.2 FabFive repos, no factory. I think I’ll wait for
the images to be ready(and the announcement) before downloading
anything.

I also had some 2,000 updates and went ahead with it. Grub2 has a theme now (looks nice), dolphin’s colors in gnome3 were fixed. kmail still isn’t fixed (outgoing using hotmail–cyrus-sasl), k3b (or rather the underlying programs) still gives incorrect permissions/group so I had to change those (yet again).
My wifi card came in the mail today and worked out of the box in both opensuse and Ubuntu. All in all, pretty good day.
Downloading openSUSE-KDE-LiveCD-Build0091-x86_64.iso from Index of /distribution/12.2-RC2/iso right now.
Good luck to all of you

Factory is now at 12.3 and I wouldn’t recommend using it. It’s more for development…
