anti-overheating daemon

Hi all,
I am looking for a daemon that will set the CPU to lower frequency if its temperature is going too high. I used an application like this in Windows.
Any ideas?

Intel Processors do that by themselves already (and I would guess AMD too). Modern processors are supposed not to overheat over a critical point anymore.

I know the CPU defends itself from overheating. It stalls. I wish it would reset.

i highly recommend you solve the heat problem mechanically (fans,
water towers, clean air passages, un-overClock, un-overVoltage etc etc
etc…

your equipment will last longer, you will use less electricity, make
less carbon etc etc etc

if you need more speed than you can now get without overheating your
CPU you should seriously consider a machine with more ‘horsepower’
giving you the speed you seek within the normal operating limits of
the hardware purchased…

or accept and live with the lower speed available from the system you
have…
