I finally tried installing opensuse 11.3 xfce on 2-home pcs.'.
Whenever I boot I keep getting this message;
Could not look up internet address for linux. This will prevent xfce from operating correctly. It maybe possible to correct the problem by adding linux to the file /etc/hosts on your system.
I tried adding in yast and by hand but still the message when I login is persistent.
Thanks for the quick reply.
The first one was not it’s linux-xxx, it was generated by yast at installation of opensuse 11.3
Then I added linux to follow the message at login and it did not make a difference.
I will look again and see.
On a side, I tried kde and all is well at login so it is xfce specific.
Got it sorted out. Last time I changed it was in yast and there was a typo. Had corrected it and now works. Good I went to check the file.
This is the first time I had this problem, have not seen this before.
