i installed openSUSE and all the installation process finished well but when i connect to the session nothing appears, just the desktop wallpaper the pointer of the mouse and the update notification!no menu no icons…
So please can you help me?

Is this kde4 - kde3 - or gnome?
Try logging in with icewm from the login screen, this assumes you disabled auto-login.
If you didn’t, you can disable it by booting to runlevel 3 and starting yast there, it’s a bit basic and keyboard navigated, but effective.
