Android 4.4 Bluetooth openSuse 13.1

Hello, I use oS 13.1 and I would like to connect Android MT65xx phone via Bluetotoh, I use usually KDE4 application and no problem. But with Android if I want to browse device, I can see only “send a file” and I cant browse folders. Why is it like this?

Thank you,

Martin

This is actually a known problem with later versions of Android and is not unique to openSUSE. I’m not sure, but I believe it goes all the way back to ver 4.0. You have to enable "Developer options " then scroll down to Select USB configuration. Click the option then select “Charging” and then select “MTP”. I now that sounds silly, but it’s the only way that works. And it get’s sillier. Every time you connect your phone you have to reselect “Charging” then switch back to “MTP”. If you just leave the setting on “MTP” it won’t work. You have to select another option, I use “Charging”, then go back to “MTP”.

There are a lot of posts about this on Android forums, but not all the advice there is consistent. I can only say that the above is what works for me,

It is ridiculous, I would suppose that Android is unix based system so it should be compatible to linux more than win…unfortunately your workaround doesnt work for me…

Sorry your luck was bad. I use that workaround daily.
