AMD planned coreboot to GNU/Linux

There is an interesting article on the AMD blog site about plans they have to implement “coreboot” for some new chipsets/processors: An Update on coreboot | Business Blog

According to coreboot.org: coreboot and Benefits - coreboot Coreboot (formerly known as LinuxBIOS) is a Free Software project aimed at replacing the proprietary BIOS (firmware) in computers with a GNU/Linu based version. Presumeably being 100% free software (GPL) it has no royalties nor license fees, and because of its structure supports fast boot times.

I’m also hoping it will improve GNU/Linux distribution compatibility with motherboards in such Coreboot BIOS fitted PCs, but likely the jury is still out on that.

Very nice, Perfect and useful, an Linux based BIOS. I have heard also that many motherboards companies develop a new type of BIOS which will be optical like a GUI and linux based.

Sorry If I am off topic.

I assume it works the same as rockbox. You have/buy a board and if its supported you can install it.
Does it still work with Windows? Just wondering. My board is not supported, so i can not try it out. :frowning:
