I’ve just upgraded to 12.1 (64bit). Amavis reports “failed” through the init script.
It does however seem to start some services, eg. after starting:
ps -e |grep ama
14359 ? 00:00:01 /usr/sbin/amavi
14363 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/amavi
14364 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/amavi
and I’m unclear as to whether it is actually failing or not.
Any ideas.

It might be a false report, and in that case you should open a Bugzilla.

The way to know is sending email and looking at the headers for clues.
