Amarok won't retain collection

I’ve just installed 11.0. I plugged my external HD into my system (and mounted it), configured Amarok to use the music directory on the HD and did a scan to build up the collection tab. However, if I unmount the drive, unplug it and then plug it back in and mount it again, the collection tab doesn’t repopulate like it did when I was using 10.3.

Another problem I’m having is that I can’t configure Amarok to use a MySQL database instead of the sqlite. I’ve followed steps I’ve found to create the amarok database and user assignting proper permissions. I’ve verified that MySQL is running but when I look for the configuration option under the Collection tab of the Amarok settings there isn’t an option to change the db method like I’m expecting.

Any thoughts on this?

Ignore this. I found out that the default Amarok installation doesn’t support MySQL. I installed the version from Packman and got that working. I’ll see if that solves the problem of the collection tab not retaining data. If not, I’ll post again.
