Running suse11.1 KDE4.1 Amarok updates the collection constantly. Any ideas why?:sarcastic:
Check your settings in Amarok. Maybe the Watch folders for changes is checked under Collection.
Good luck.
Chuck your amarok settings probably means delete or rename the amarok folder its a hidden folder In your /home the path is ~.kde4/share/apps/
~ is the same as home/yourUserName (note the dot in the path)

I’m sorry! I’m new at this, could you explain how to check the paths and make changes?
Made a mistake, sorry.
Need a delete button.
OK
Go to your home folder in the view menu click show hidden files.
You will see a folder .kde4 open that then share then apps.
Right click on amarok folder and rename it to amarok-old
Open amarok and see if the problem is resolved

Thanks so much for your help! I went to the hidden files and I have both .kde and .kde4 When I go to share and then apps there is an amarok folder under the .kde but not the .kde4 I also found my bibletime program in the .kde folder that had disappeared from my menu. I don’t know if this helps, but I used the upgrade option when I went from suse11.0 to 11.1 Should I combine these directories, rename, or something else?
One thing I forgot to add is that there is two of everything that shows up in my collection.
Yes this probably the problem renaming the folder will remove the database with the double entries and a new one will be created next time you start amarok.
In amarok settings give the path to you filed and tick can folders for changes but **not **scan folders recursively
/Geoff
Thanks! Everything looks good!
