Amarok Problem

Hello!

I have a problem with Amarok - on first run after sytem start( or turn on computer) Amarok start but show me this message

http://shrani.si/f/B/UJ/31qS5xIv/amarok-error.png

When press OK, Amarok start and play, but after closing it, it wont start again.
When I click on Amarok icon, just an icon bounced near the mouse cursor about 10 seconds, and then dissapeared.
Nothing else happened until restart computer and then again - one start with this error message and nothin else until restart…etc.
How to solve this problem?

Thanks for answers

There was a mysql update some time ago which trigered that problem.
Go into yast search for mysql and the switch the packages which show
version 5.5.23 back to 5.5.16 with the versions tab.
From top of my head I do not remember if it was enough just to logout
and login again or which processes to stop and restart so if you don’t
mind just reboot the machine and it should be back to normal.
It is a good idea to taboo the packages for update in yast at the moment
until that is resolved.

have you tried deleting all your hidden amarok config files, might want to try that first.

This folder: .kde4/share/apps/amarok

These files:

.kde4/share/config/amarok-appletsrc
.kde4/share/config/amarok_homerc
.kde4/share/config/amarokrc

HI

Have you seen this?

It’s the same problem?

I just updated from KDE & I have/had the same problem
caf,
Sorry to tell to tell you but I tried your idea 1st & it made it worse. As in in just bouncing icon then nothing worse.
However, after much messing around I did find a solution.
glock,
All you’ll need to do is use the Packman version of Amarok not KDE’s it’ll even use the latest mysql.
One more thing glock, while in Yast make sure to right click amarok & select Do Not Modify, that’ll put a lock icon & will protect it from getting updated away from the Packman version.

Deleting the folder/files I listed just re-sets amarok to like a new install, the first time you run it. That’s all

I did that now amarok won’t start. I uninstalled then reinstalled it. Same problem.

Either downgrade the mysql packages as mentioned above, or try the Packman version of amarok, will test straigt away if that works, and report.

Update mysql, amarok crashes. Amarok package is from Packman Tumbleweed repo.
Solution: downgraded mysql, amarok functions normal, both packages from Tumbleweed’s KDE and Packman T’weed.

Has someone reported the mysql bug yet in bugzilla? It will never be solved
otherwise.

Reinstalling amarok back to the previous openSUSE update (2.4.3-8.6.1) worked for me on 12.1 with KDE 4.7.2 (64bit).
