Amarok Library vanished

hai all,
i am using amarok 2 on suse 11.0
this morning when i was tried to play some media,i found that the entire library collection is missing from amarok.i did not change any settings or the file locations or permissions.i tried to rescan the collection but to no avail.
any suggestions or help wold be appreciated.

You have I take it configured amarok to point it to your music library?

yes.it was fine untill this morning.
though the local library shows the geners list i have, it does not show the media in those geners.at first i though it might be some problem with mysql package and i upgraded it but nothing changed.
