Amarok 2.xx offers track edit for entering tag details but does not save the editings. Cover finder also does not work. Is there a way to make them work.

2.4.3-8.8.1 x64 from OpenSuse Update repo . I wrote 2.xx because that problems has appeared since introduction of Amarok 2. I have not tried other Linux distribution to check if it is somtning with Open Suse, just thought is is a bug and in time it will be corrected. The other players clementine, banshee handle editing fine.
