I just installed 11.1 (after a temporary install of Kubuntu 8.10, as a waiting-for-opensuse replacement, after 11.0 died ;-)). I installed it with KDE 4.1.3 and Amarok 2.0. The problem is, it doesn’t play mp3s. Also, Amarok 1.4.10 doesn’t play them (even though I’ve installed the restricted codecs pack from opensuse-community, with the amarok-packman package). Anyone have any idea why is that?
Oh, and BTW, does anyone know, when the AMD/ATI repo for 11.1 will be up?
If you have restricted codecs installed, install the amarok-xine package. After change your codec from GStreamer to Xine in Amarok 1.4.10.

It’s installed. And 1.4.10 still says that xine can’t play them.

Resolved in 11.1 using packman repository, switching to xine backend and installing libxine1-codecs
