Alter number of KDE4 multiple desktops

How do I vary the number of desktops available in the “Pager” in the"Panel" at the bottom of the screen in KDE4.

I feel very noobish with this KDE4 thing

Right click on the pager and click on configure desktops,if you are using Compiz you will have to use the manager and go to general >desktop size

Of course that’s so obvious – the new look has me disoriented.
