Alt+f4 switches to tty

Hi there!

This is under kde and wayland. fully updated as of today. I have seen other reports of the same behaviour under gnome, so this might not be KDE-related.

recently (I can’t really remember when, today is when I started looking into it) my desktop started switching to tty4 instead of closing the application under kde-wayland. Running “sudo kbd_mode -r” solves the problem for about 7 seconds before I am switched back to unicode mode.

When I start my desktop I kbd_mode is in “an unknown state”, and at some point it switches over and then I can’t use alt+Fx. The old Ctrl+alt+fx work still.

I don’t even know where to look. Does anyone have an idea?

So, I uninstalled ibus and everything related to it, and now it just says my keyboard is in an unknown state. Everything works, though.
