When I have the focus in thunderbird and I type “Alt-F2” with the intention of starting an
application by name, I get a box named “Application Finder”, which pops behind Thunderbird.
Seeing no response I type Alt-f2 several times (and get several boxes behind, hidden).
Is this a bug or a configuration issue?
(xfce-about says version 4.10)

If you are referring to run command it is a feature.
Type the command to open your application and it will work
The run command is in combination with the app finder

Yes, but the problem is that it pops up behind the current displayed window, where I don’t
see it.

Ah, I see, you maybe right, it happens on my laptop but it is okay on my two desktops (one 12.1 & 12.2)
XFCE 4.10. On my laptop I have to use mouse right click and cick run command to show it on top.
