Allow me to introduce myself.

Hello Geekos,
allow me to introduce myself. My name is X <pause> Titanx. rotfl!

I’ve made my first experience with S.u.S.E in the 90’s - I think it was around 1996/97. At this time I was just a little kid who was kinda focused on playing the game KSokoban.
After many years of life and experiences with MS Windows I started to get the desire to go back to GNU/Linux and openSUSE … but this time not for playing any games on it.

I’m kinda impressed and willing to learn more about GNU/Linux, openSUSE and SUSE itself - I’m also fascinated about the community and the communal spirit.

For now I’m running GNU/Linux openSUSE 12.3 [Kernel 3.7.10 | Gnome 3.6.2 ] on my desktop computer and the KDE4 version on my laptop to get more familiar with both graphic user interfaces. I also aim to get more in touch with the commands and the functions by not using the GUIs that often to go without luxuries like a GUI. :nerd:

As already mentioned “I’m willing to learn” - That means If you see me making wrong posts or conclusions in a thread or even in the IRC don’t hesitate to tell/correct me.

*To quote Alexander McQueen :
**“Of course I make mistakes. I’m human. If I didn’t make mistakes, I’d never learn. You can only go forward by making mistakes.” **
*
This is kinda what I want to do here and within this community. I want to get out of my comfort zone - get confronted with problems and solutions to learn from experienced users and help newcomers.

For more questions just leave me a (private) message or contact me on IRC.

best regards,

Titanx

Hi Titanx,
I saw you pop on to IRC  Welcome to the forums

You might want to look at upgrading to GNOME 3.8 on 12.3?
