Is there a fix coming soon to OpenSUSE Leap 42.2?
http://software.opensuse.org/package/ucode-intel which supposedly fixes this bug for some affected CPUs seems to be voluntary to install and the official one doesnât seem updated.
20170511 and later should fix the âhyperthread bugâ for some CPUs according to the debian message but official release for Leap 42.2 is 20160714.
Would be great if the distro developers fixed this for everyone having the affected CPUs.
This is quite confusing⌠According to the Hardware Info app my CPU has hyperthreading (flags: ⌠ht âŚetc) BUT according to Intelâs website it doesnâtâŚ
CPU = Intel i5-6300HQ (quad, 2.3GHz)
âŚSo which one is it ?
Also, my BIOS has no option to disable it that way - in fact, it doesnât have any option besides UEFI and boot order or so.
An update has been submitted and should be released in the next days.
