Hello islam_1380,

Welcome here.

Allow me to point you to a few things.
When you post computer output, please do so between CODE tags: Posting in Code Tags - A Guide . This to make your post more readable and understandable.

Also, while English may not be your native languge and everybody will make every effort to understand you, please try to split up your text in sentences. Sentences that start with a capital and and with a dot. That will make it much better readable for eveybody inclusiing other people bot having English as heir first langauge (like me).

so any help

Hello islam1380,

It is mee again. And sorry, but again without a solution. Your new descriptions is much better readable then the old one, Thanks for that. But the fact that nowbody came here to your problem might also be due to the fact that the title “all in one PC” does not explain anything about the problem you have.

As I understand it, the display on your system does not function. then please say something like that in your title like: Monitor (type) does not work on system (type). It is you who should advertise your problem in a way that it atrackts the right people.

And it would also be interesting to tell if you realy see nothing at all on that monitor , it being black from the time you switch the system on and you only hearing the disk rattle, or that you see at least a BIOS splash, or maybe the GRUB menu, etc. You should provide as much information as you can. We can not see that monitor, you can.

and, also that so few folks here might be running an “all in one pc” and
therefore know little about how they work, what systems they work with,
etc etc etc…

the other thing is you say everything worked in 11.3, so maybe you will
have better luck just going back to that…it is fully supported until
mid-Jan, and after that i guess it will be supported with security
patches via Evergreen…

or, you might consider going to 11.4 which is supported until September…

openSUSE®, the “German Engineered Automobiles” of operating systems!

From http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2342274,00.asp, it appears that your PC is a touch-screen using Intel GMA3100. You stated in your original post that the PC performed correctly, yet exhibits an empty (or “black screen”) main display. Since the PC does work with an external monitor, two possibilities come to mind:

  1. openSUSE 12.1 may have a potential problem with touch-screen support, as this would be embodied in the Intel driver(s). I have not used openSUSE (or any distro of Linux) on a touch-screen, thus this is speculation.

  2. You may be experiencing the “all-in-one PC” version of the Intel Graphics “black screen” problem, for which the immediate workaround (lid closure/re-open) is not an option, as the Cybernet is an “all-in-one” sans lid.

However, since the external monitor works, you do have a potential solution. To test this possibility, without permanently updating GRUB, boot the PC to the GRUB screen. Using the tab key, enter/append the following to whatever is currently displayed"

ACPI_backlight=vendor

and continue the boot. If openSUSE boots correctly, you may add this in the GRUB entry/entries. You may need an additional ACPI option. Refer to http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/install-boot-login/466700-intel-graphics-black-screen-problem-update.html#post2395386 for information on the option acpi_osi=Linux.

NOTE: The above has been tested on openSUSE 11.4 and 12.1. It has NOT been tested on openSUSE 11.3.
