All Desktops the Same

In openSuse 11.1, all 4 desktops are the same. How do I get a different background for each? Any fixes for this yet 4.13)

AFAIK it has yet to be implemented.

AFAIK this won’t be implemented. Instead there are Activities available, which in theory are more powerful than different virtual desktops.
Last time I tried it still was in early development stage, but kinda working.

Activities are the way to go if you want different wallpapers.
The cashew was handy for dealing with activities but it seems to be
removed in OS Reloaded, not sure if that is a permanent thing or just
someone’s choice. You can also add the acitvity bar to your panel to work
with them, but IMHO it takes up too much realestate.

Go for KDE 3.5 lol!

OK, that not for the far future. I did not try KDE 4 until now, but how is one supposed to see at a glance which desktop is on, when not for the wallpaper?

You can add the desktop pager widget to your taskbar (or elsewhere, if you prefer). Not as nice of a solution as having separate wallpapers, but it does indicate which desktop is currently active.
