Alarms and MIB

Hi all,

does anyone know how to look at the alarms and MIBs that are generated in SUSE?

any documentation about alarms and MIBs?

Thanks

Jaime

What is MIB?
What do uou mean by alarms in suse?
Do you mean to say you want to see system messages?

su
tail -f /var/log/messages

Hi
MIB=Management Information Base it’s used with snmp

@OP, It’s just the standard snmp-mibs that are supplied, have a look
down in /usr/share/snmp/mibs/ or use YaST and the file list to view.

You just need to configure up snmp to function on the local machine,
running snmptrapd will log the trap messages.

It all boils down to what you are wanting to do… send/receive etc??

In the past I have used SEC (http://www.estpak.ee/~risto/sec/) to
capture and generate traps.
