Hello.
When I start up my computer I always get the Akonadi message window with some errors. If I just close it, launch “akonadi configuration” and ask for a test, some of the errors have already disappeared. It looks like the first test is made too soon, before everything is running.
It’s not a big issue but I would like to get rid of the akonadi warnings window. Does anybody know how?
Thanks in advance.
I enclose the report for one test during the start up, and the same test one minute later. If needed I can post the whole report. There are other errors, but this one seems to me the most relevant.
During start up, I get:
Test 14: ERROR

as no one else here seems to have had your problem (or else i’m sure
they would speak up) i suggest you join and ask somewhere on in the
KDE forum, http://forum.kde.org/
I had the same issue 2 weeks ago after updating KDE. Not sure what happened but it went away on its own.
*** Thinking about it after the update I had issues with updates after, aswell as searching packages from the repository - I could manually look through the lists though. I logged in under root and allowed the system to update, which took care of the update issue / repository issue. Probably took care of the Akonadi issue since it hasn’t happened since around that time.

apparently the two/three share a bug…who is gonna log it and who is
gonna make comments on it so all the various hardware/software
questions the devs might need to know is included?
I’ve searched and found nothing for opensuse 11.1 (which is the version I run). I’ve found a bug for 11.2 that maybe is related but it’s not exactly the same (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=555443).
Before reporting the bug I’ll update kde (I cannot do it right now).
Maybe also before reporting it’s useful to know what opensuse and kde versions you (gdudley6 and Prexy) are running.
I run opensuse 11.1 and kde 4.4.2 (but I plan to install 4.4.3 as soon as possible).
Do you think it’s better to report in opensuse or in kde bugs?
Did you try to remove the akonadi related files and folders in ~/.kde4/share/config and ~/.kde4/share/apps ? There might simpy be some old settings interfering with new ones.

Now that I can send email again, I have had the problem with
Akonadi.(Can’t register Akonadi server and console with dbus).
Every time I tried to select a contact, it hung up kmail and
Kontact. Had to kill Kontact completely to get out of it.It had
been working sort of. Yesterday I restored ~/.config and ~/.local.
from a backup and now contacts works and Kmail works, but I still
get a MySQl error:

Version: ‘5.1.36-log’ socket:

I’ve gone thru the steps on KDEBASE Wiki. Nepomuk is running.
I assume problem is fact MySQL requires a password and ID. I put
them in akonadiserverrc but it still did not work.
I had the same problem after updating kde yesterday.
The update for akonadi and libakonadi seems to remove the warning when starting kmail. Oh I updated kmail also today.

I haven’t updated yet. Wanted to solve problem first if possible. I
had everything working yesterday but today when I rebooted, my
nepomuk update feeder is bot running was yesterday. Only error I
see is the MySQL ones. but it was running yesterday with the error
present. May try update later today. Will post result if I do.
I had done that before. After updating kde I did it again, but nothing changed. The warnings window is always there.
Is it worthwhile submiting a bug report? It seems something of little importance.

I logged a bug with the KDE Bug reporting sysem. Last time I logged
one on Bugzilla (openSUSE) I was Informed I should log at KDE . See
KDE Bug 236593. I can fix problem but it keeps coming back. I even
upgraded to KDE 4.4.3, still have it. Also downgraded my OS to be
the stable version to make sure that was not problem. Signature
still shows near os. I am on 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop now. and KDE
4.4.3.

I updated to KDE 4.4.3 and downgraded my OS to 2.6.31.12-0.2-
desktop. Problem still there. restored .config and .local and
problem gone for now but it does return in time. Will see.

Exactly the same in my case, except for the downgrading of kernel.
Good that you reported a bug. Let’s see what happens.
