Akonadi server error

“Akonadi server closed unexpedidly”
Tried restart, tried KDE bug report an it just brings up ANOTHER same mesage.

Do i need it for ‘normal’ applications? If so how/where to resolve it?

“Do I need it”??

Depends … consider it the central tool that works with the KDE “PIM” tools. If you use any of them, that may be why you’re seeing some feedback.

Don’t use KDE PIM things asfaik.

Thanks,
that is probably the cause. I remember a few days back the mariadb was in the updates & the next day the akondai crashes started.

Same here … I have no need for the KDE PIM tools, which is why I removed the group of apps and removed the Akonadi background process and uninstalled it too.

Why not?
working as expected with the workaround…

Thanks;

I’ve never down graded anything, but I’ll give it a try.

Blockquote
downgrade to mariadb 11.8.5-160000.3.1 fixes the problem as a workaround.

But I can’t find a way to do the downgrade.
I am formatted to ext4.

Open Yast-Software or Myrlyn, search for mariadb, mark the first entry, goto Version tab and mark the old Version.

Thanks again,
downgraded and locked.
I need to keep track of the bug report to see when it has a ‘fix’.

I uninstalled Akonadi via Myrlyn, too. I had the same issue.
