AHCI - md - boot

Hello!

When I installed Suse 11.1 the biossettings of the server wasn’t set to AHCI. I’ve creates a SW raid1. Now because I want to add an additional SATA HD, I wanted to switch to AHCI. I’ve managed to create a new kernel with the ahci modules, so this step works. But now the bootprocess ends with
“waiting for md0 to appear”. and I’m stucked.
is there any chance to for me to switch to ahci witho a complete reinstall.
should i break the raid1? and yes how do I break it?

thanks

To add “ahci” module into the current kernel you can list it
under /etc/sysconfig/kernel “INITRD_MODULES=” and then I think “mkinitrd”
is required.

I’m not in touch with soft-raid setup so please, do not execute the above
command before being sure it is what you really need. Wait until someone
can confirm. Your data is the most important here
