After upgrade to 11.3 fails to print with samsung ml 1640 printer

Hi,

yesterday I upgrade my opensuse 11.2 to 11.3 with zypper dup. Today I try to print something but printer doesn’t react for page nor test page. On 11.2 it works perfectly. I have samsung ml 1640 connected directly to PC via usb. I’m not very familiar with cups so asking for some hints or help ;). Thanks.

Marek

output from cups:
Description: OpenBlackBox v mojom rume
Location: Moj rum
Driver: Samsung ML-1640 Series (grayscale, 2-sided printing)
Connection: usb://Samsung/ML-1640%20Series
Defaults: job-sheets=none, none media=iso_a4_210x297mm sides=one-sided

Have you tried YaST>Hardware>Printer? I found that though 11.3 had detected my printer correctly during installation, it had not installed it.

Hi,

thanks for suggestion. I check it and try to edit printed and checkbox enabled was not checked. After saving I try to print something spooler start but no page come out from printer.
I have observed something in /var/log/cups/error:

Some permissions problems?

Thanks

Resolved  just change permissions for file /usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertosamsungspl from 777 to 555 and finally it start working. Anyway during upgrade something happened.
