The minimal thing you should have told is what version of openSUSE you use.

senior@linux-hrbo:~> cat /etc/SuSE-release
openSUSE 13.1 (x86_64)
VERSION = 13.1
CODENAME = Bottle

If you installed bumblebee from the Overman79 repository, that repo is no longer in use. You should uninstall everything from that repo and reinstall bumblebee from the new bumblebee repo. Instructions here.
I had this exact same problem a couple days ago and modified the wiki according to what got it back up and running on my system.

actuaaly I didn’t use Overman79,i used your shared repo but after reinstall its work.

I would highly recommend switching to the Bumblebee Project openSUSE repository.
It will provide the latest driver. Should you prefer a slightly older driver, click on the “Parent” directory link to see the many drivers provided.

Right here: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Bumblebee-Project:/nVidia:/latest/openSUSE_13.1/

Ok, thanks. This is the first I’ve heard of it. I did notice that repo does not actually have bumblebee or bbswitch in it though…
The only things I see are dkms and Nvidia drivers. Where is the rest of it? Or, are those things now integrated into the Nvidia driver somehow? I haven’t been keeping up with the latest bumblebee developments.

If I use …X11:/Bumblebeed…-repository to install bumblebeed, where from to obtain nvidia driver if I want to use primusrun xxx to run some software via the external video card? Using Bumblebee-Project -repository to install nvidia driver may easily cause mix up of the other softwares?

Blacklisting of nouveau is taken care of by the installer after yesterdays update of the nvidia rpms.

The repository referenced on the wiki page contains the Nvidia driver needed to run graphics via the optirun command. Primusrun will use the integrated graphics card (usually the intel chip) and does not utilize the Nvidia driver. Using the bumblebee project repo to update the Nvidia driver should still work since the Nvidia driver only runs the discrete card. Although, I have not tried this myself to verify that everything will still work.

Ok, I’ll make a note to just verify that it’s blacklisted.

Primusrun also uses the nvidia card, it’s slightly faster than optirun, but it runs with Sync to VBlank enabled and thus doesn’t show more than around 60 fps. Try to run it this way and you’ll see that it’s faster than optirun.

vblank_mode=0 primusrun glxspheres

Ok, thanks. I’d read that primusrun was for the integrated card only. Thanks for the info. Although vblank_mode=0 with primusrun is still slightly slower than optirun on my system, but not by much, about 13 fps.

Follow Up - just updated 2 days ago

This does an automatic addition of nouveau to blacklist at installation.
