After update my 2. monitor show the same

Hi there,

have installed Leap 42.1 2 days ago on my PC after an OS update made my OpenSues 13.1 installation unusable.

I have 2 monitors and the Leap installation saw it and I had access to both monitors .
After an update this morning followed by rebooting the system now my 2. monitor is just a copy of the 1. monitor; it show exactly the same.

I opened Settings / System Settings / Display Configuration and tried to switch back to what I had before…
It shows that there are 2 monitors DFP7 and DFP6, but it does not want to combine them to one surface; only copy mode possible.

When will an Alpha-Version of Leap 42.1 be available ?

Joe

Hi, I’m using Gnome here and the desktop Settings > Displays allows combining as expected.
With KDE maybe you have to try:
Settings > Configure Desktop > Hardware > Display and Monitor
it should show both monitors and allow independent settings. Then click “Unify Outputs”.
If this is not what you look for, please report back.

Try to drag one monitor away from the other.

Also make sure that you actually use systemsettings5, not the KDE4 version.

When will an Alpha-Version of Leap 42.1 be available ?

Never.
42.1 has been released already, last November…

If you mean 42.2, then the answer is the same though. There won’t be an Alpha-Version, there wasn’t one for 42.1 either.
Maybe there will be a Milestone release at some point (no idea), and then the Betas and RCs around October I suppose.

But there’s Tumbleweed (also Live Cds), and there’s also the new “Argon” LiveCD which is based on Leap and contains the latest unstable KDE packages.

This might also help. Just to be clear, that button is at the bottom, below of all the other monitor settings, you might have to scroll down.
