This seems an issue that regularly occurs. It has happened to me 3 or 4 times over the years. The above option lets the system boot. Submit a defect report. Wait a week or two. Voila! All better!
I do wonder if installing that 6.18.7-1-default kernel has caused the issue…

I noted that now is present the 6.12.0-160000.34-defaultso I’m updating with this
@pier_andreit you need to look at the /var/log/zypp/history log and see where that kernel came from… And also clean up and remove.
If your going to get random files from non-standard repositories, I would suggest setting up a local directory as a repository, download to this directory and install from there. I use it here, to drop in my test rpms etc…

No. I do not have the issue at this time.
Yes. You receive comments and updates from the defect report as it is evaluated and fixed.
The issue is a rather random one. I have had one computer fail while another is not affected, for the same update and OS version. Disabling the microcode update is not a deal breaker.
