After installing the Steam installer running returns missing files

The steam process has been so consistent that I could do the process in my sleep.

  1. go to Disovery
  2. install the Steam that has the Valve icon\
  3. run it and the real install starts

Under Tumbleweed
Installing the deb file fails when downloading from the website. (has always worked)
Open Discovery and install from Flatpak it installs but then I get a message that about 7 .lib files are missing and " may not run properly"
The install of steam begins and I get my login verified (id, pw, code frm email) but it returns to the initial login once again instead of starting to run.
.

openSUSE is rpm based, so deb never worked…

Have you tried to choose the openSUSE Tumbleweed version from the official repo in Discover? Runs like a charm for me. Never tried the Flatpak version.

What I found is that using Ventoy created my problems. After creating a bootable USB and reinstalling things are wworking now.
