This is from /var/log/messages after the problem started occuring:

eout
MMar 22 17:17:57 yasar-laptop gnome-session[3138]: WARNING: Application 'nautilus.desktop' failed to register before tim

I have same two lines in /var/log/warn too.

So what do you guys suggest that I do?

Hello read this WARNING: Application ‘gnome-wm.desktop’ failed to register

And this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/292376

I don’t use compiz. fsck didn’t give me anything. But there is a possibility that I used it with wrong options. What is the best option for checking and repairing it if necessary?

And when I type nautilus in command line, nothing happens for like 15 seconds, after that I get this:

(nautilus:3541): Unique-DBus-WARNING **: Error while sending message: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

did you make any changes to the system’s security policies in YaST >
Security and Users > Local Security ??

warning: if you do not know what you are doing and why in there, i
wouldn’t change much of anything (openSUSE is born very secure)–and,
if you do changes be sure and know/remember how to undo what you did…
(no kidding, you can make it SO secure even you can’t use the
system…others have done that…i didn’t quite make it so bad that
i had to do a “start over” but, i WAS locked out from doing anything
productive, and sweating…so . . .)

I deinstalled programs that caused my desktop to disappear, and it came back. I don’t know what was wrong or what is fixed though.
