I am attempting to install leap 42.2 server mode onto a server and I am unable to get the system to boot after the installation is complete. There is a never ending start job attempting to access the root partition on the console. It is a hardware(through BIOS, so I assume this is hardware)RAID 0 setup with 4 drives.
First, did you remove the install media from your optical disk or USB?
Did you install using “storage” media (eg USB, hard drive) because some machines are unaware the media is removable and will mess up your disk identification?
Also, checksum your install media.
Is your boot or root partition with the boot files marked as bootable?
And, is your disk layout default or somehow modified?
Yes I removed the install media(USB)
I installed with a USB, I was able to install(and boot) the OS on a non-raided disk with the same USB. Should I try it with a DVD? Also would a USB DVD reader count as the same thing as a USB storage meda(I don’t think it is but just checking cause I’m not 100% certain)?
Checksum was fine after I downloaded the ISO.
I think it was, how do I check?
It’s default I didn’t modify it as far as I know (4 disks) I also tried RAID 10 with similar results.
