after failed update-process with zypper-dub i cannot login again

hello dear linux experts,

after failed update-process with zypper-dub i cannot login again.

The notebook runs version 12.2 and i tried to do a zypper-dub update (or upgrade) -which failed -

among some other errors i had an error with downloading the oss distribution


error with downloading  (curl) für  'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1/repo/oss/suse/i586/libdb-4_5-4.5.20-125.1.3.i586.rpm':
errorkode: Write error 

errormessage Failed writing body (640 != 1440)
  • with this i stopped the automated zypper-up-process.

the notebook should run version 12.2 -

but very very funny;: i cannot login again.
the login procedure does not accept the password.

what can i do!`?

zypper-dub does not exist.

If it does exist, then I have no idea what it can do to your system.

If you refer to “zypper dup” from 12.2 to 13.1, then the procedure will crash and is not supported.
You have to “zypper dup” to 12.3 first; when finished, you have to reboot, verify everything, tun
“zypper patch”, reboot, and then change the repos again to do a “zypper dup” to 13.1 on a separate step.

Again I’ll ask: have you read and understood the instructions for doing a system upgrade?

You also have to read and understand the release notes for each target version.
