After clean install of Opensuse 13.1 on a Dell Vostro I cannot eject the DVD. I have tried the Media Check screen and also the Dell Eject button. What else can I try?
That usually means that the DVD is mounted and some process is accessing it.
Try rebooting, then the eject button on the boot menu screen. (That’s easier than finding processes to kill).
If that does not solve the problem, then you have a mechanical failure.
Hmm, an after thought. Maybe “packagekitd” is doing a slow build of an rpm database. It will eventually finish (maybe an hour or so).
If you are using KDE, it is worth clicking on the system tray icon for external drives and seeing if there is an eject icon available.
