Finally building my new PC. I like to have advice on the set up for the boot drives. I was thinking of buying 2 SDD drives, one for Suse OS and the other for my game OS (Windows 8.1). I normally install Windows first and then Suse, just like to know if installing each OS on different SSD drive is a good choice.
You want one for your boot drive so I’d put Windows on that one since I’m not sure how to make it work on a secondary.
Install openSUSE to the second but set the efi boot partition to the first drive. mount as /boot/erfi
Windows should play nice with the efi boot partition but you never know so once all is installed and working backup that partition (note is formatted as FAT)
I spend the day reading about dual boot between W8.1 and Suse. Not as simple as before, actually, sounds problematic due to Windows UEFI. I may just install Suse without Windows and just use the old PC as a XP game machine.
Most of the methods have been worked out here on the forum, so go ahead and get started with the dual boot, then come back here if you need any specific help.
There are plenty of users here who now know how to do it and can help.
