Advanced Embedded Text Editor

In Konqueror, when browsing files the display would open in the
“Advanced Embedded Text Editor” which was really handy. In Dolphin it
opens in Kate (KWrite by default but I changed it.)

Is there a way to make Dolphin behave like Konqueror?

I think here is no such thing in Dolphin…

The Advanced Embedded Text Editor is just Kate without the Kate interface - Kate was designed to provide text editing facilities for any program that calls its underlying editing engine.

Interesting. I always thought it was funny they called it an editor,
because when in preview mode I could never edit - just view the contents
of the file.

I take it there’s no way to make Dolphin call Kate w/in the display window?
