When I click on a link to install Adobe Reader for Firefox 4.0b11 (OS11.4-RC2), it downloads a *.bin file. When I click on it to run, it asks what to open it with, displaying the start menu. I’ve tried opening it with various programs including Firefox without it being available to Firefox.
Is this a bug in the beat version of Firefox or am I trying to install it incorrectly?

where do you see that link?
it sounds like you have gone to the Adobe web site and clicked to
download a “bin” file…is there not an adobe reader and provided in
the openSUSE repos??
that is one of the problems faced by folks who test beta
software…you have to figure out stuff like how to install a bin file…
is there no instructions provided by the place where you downloaded
the bin file? there SHOULD be, and their instructions should be followed…
as far as i remember you just need to change the bin files properties
to allow it to be executed…then maybe you can click it, but i would
prefer to open a terminal, navigate to where the file is and issue
…/[filename].bin
that way i can see if it throws any errors or complains in unexpected
ways…
but, i am NOT suggesting you do that until after you have read the
instructions provided by the bin file maker, and my caveat below…
