Adobe Reader Bill Paying

I have a utility bill that uses Speedpay by Western Union for electronic bill payment. This seems to require Adobe Reader. I have tried to use Ocular and even though it says ‘You are viewing this document in a PDF reader that allows for all payment functionality’ drop down boxes don’t work so there is no way to complete the form to submit payment.

Has anyone run across this and found a solution?

None of the Linux versions have these facilities, only MS Windows. Not sure how recent the facility you need is but I keep an old computer with XP on it which allows me to do various things in Adobe Reader which aren’t available in Linux. However, I have only used such an obscure facility once.

you have 2 choicess
#1 install the current version of Adobe Reader for windows under wine and use that
#2 find and install the abandoned adobe reader for Linux (I think it was at version 9) you can find it at adobe’s public ftp or try and search for the version that came with opensuse

ps here’s adobe’s ftp you can get the current windows and old Linux versions there
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.5/enu/ (for Lin, keep in mind it’s a 32bit app and LEAP is 64bit so installing it might pull extra 32bit runtime)
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/ for win (I haven’t tried the new 2015 or DC versions of the reader so I won’t recommenced what version to install under wine reader 11 should work fine)

afaik using the windows version under wine is recommended by adobe

That is what I am doing now. Thanks for the reply!

I think I will try the wine solution. Thanks for the reply.

Install Windows in a VM and run there.
