The latest plugin (Ver: 11.2.202.442) tar.gz calls for copying a file to the Firefox plugin directory.
I´m using openSUSE 12.3 64 bit, where is the Firefox plugin directory?
How do I find it?
alternatively,
why not download the rpm from the Adobe Flash-Player web site
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer11.html
but before installing it, delete
< flash-player-11.2.202.440-1.2.x86_64
< flash-player-kde4-11.2.202.440-1.2.x86_64
or whatever is installed, ymmv
NB.
for some openSUSE versions, it looks as though the flash-player-11.2.202.442
is already available, so should be available soon for all,
if you can wait a couple of days
the simplest thing to do is create a plugins folder in your firefox profile and copy the *.so there, but that one will not get updates and if you install a plugin via rpm you might end up with 2 flash plugins and a headache.
Anyhow your firefox profile is
/home/<you>/.mozilla/firefox/<somethingsomething.default/<make a plugins dir here>
ps packman also provides flash plugins so we might get an update soon
openSUSE 12.3 is out of support already, and doesn’t receive any more updates.
You should better upgrade to a supported version, like 13.1 or 13.2.
That said, browser plugins are normally installed to /usr/lib64/browser-plugins/.
And an updated openSUSE flash-player package is available for 12.1-12.3 here:

Thank you all for your support. Looks like an update to a later version is the way to go.
Thanks again,
