Adobe Digital Editions in Wine, WIndows Program Emulator

I can not use Adobe Digital Editions with the wine windows program emulator… The application will, yes install but it will have an error code when I try to Authorize the computer I see:

E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED http://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/Activate

Also I have no problems with my system clock and the link to Adobe Digital editions is Adobe - Digital Editions and click installation technote or click here
Also see what adobe says about it… click here

9 times out of 10, the biggest issue with getting Windows apps to work in Wine is DRM and copyright protection.

There are ways around such things, but first I would see if there is a legal and proper way to get the products to activate in Wine.

Search for the specific products in the Wine App DB, and usually there are instructions there to get things to work.

WineHQ - Wine Application Database

It gives me this

Also it says a workaround that I don’t get what is the ‘unix box’?

This is probably because the OS is not Windows. Did you check on th wine site to see if anyone ad got it to work? Not all windoz programs will work in wine.

You could install Windows in to a VM (like Sun’s VirtualBox)

It says how to on the page… This page: WineHQ - Adobe Digital Editions 1.5

Linux and Unix are very much alike. Notice the spelling >:)

What is the box part for… can you give me a file path to the “voucher” which is on the page and to the unix box or “linux box”

My suse forums rank speaks for it’s self I am a puzzled penguin

See the picture…/home/stephen/documents/snapshot1.png

I mean… http://www.rosanacasco.com/de.png/

ok then follow the link… http://www.rosanacasco.com/de.png

that is my desktop

LOL box is just geekspeak for the computer box. So The instruction is to activate it in Windows and copy the files to you Linux/Unix computer into the same relative place in the directory where the program is installed. So you are cheating by activating on windows then copying the activation files to Linux ergo tricking the program into thinking it is activated.

Anyone???

So where are the files in windows and where do I put them in linux

This is so extensive…

Let’s parse this out

* authorizing DRM-ed books with Adobe ID hangs. Workaround: activate it under Windows and **then move "Voucher" directory to your unix box (it's under Application Data)**

Copy the Voucher directory to wich is in the “Application Data” to the same place under the wine directory in your home directory

I have activated the files in windows…
I looked in C:\Documents and Settings\Home\Application Data\Adobe\Digital Editions

oops… I guess

:
makes a smily

Did you find voucher?
