Address Book in Evolution

I have set up Evolution, but Address Book does not seem to work. Every time I start it, it gives me this message:

Error loading address book.

We were unable to open this address book. Please check that the path /home/kirill/.evolution/addressbook/local/system exists and that you have permission to access it.

Detailed error: Other error

I did check the path, it is there, and I do have correct authorizations (read/write) Please advise.

Close Evolution and try renaming the *.db files under that path (i.e.,
file.db.backup) to allow Evolution recreate them on start.

Greetings,

Camaleón

Thanks, it worked.

I have the same problem since openSuse 11.0 and i have never resolved it. The solution offered here did not work for me. I also tried to cancel the db-files and to cancel the directory in .gconf but the error reappears. I also worked with gnome in mandriva, fedora and ubuntu with the same files and version of evolution and there it works. It is only an opensuse bug and it is a pitty because i like to work with opensuse and i like gnome.
I tried on my 64bit pc and on my fujitsu notebook and also on the asus eeepc of my wife. The problem remains. Any idea?
