Adding Widgets to Plasma

Hi Guys,

I having this slight problem when adding widgets to plasma. Plasma freezes when I click to add. I have to manually use system monitor to kill the process and use konsole to run: plasma to start it back up or restart.

Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I can’t add any new widgets because of this.:frowning:

I forgot to mention that plasma uses up an entire core while it is frozen. I would leave it running for at least 5 minutes but nothing changes.

I got to work again.rotfl!

What I did was to update the plasma, then finally realised that I had the desktop set to plain desktop. So I changed it to desktop container and it worked. The only thing is though, is that the widgets move to random places or to top left hand corner like they did in 4.2.1. I thought this problem was fixed unless it was me? :wink:

I have been through the top left prob also, I deleted everything with plasma
in it in ~/.kde4/share/config/ reconfigured the desktop and it did work for
me YMMV.

But it reared its head again in one of the versions of 4.3, deleted the
files again started afresh with a blank KDE placed things where I wanted and
logged out and back in and now it works again fine.

Another thing I have noticed ( this is with KDE4.3 rc2 ) not sure if it was
there before that if you cahnge the type of desktop from say “Plain” to
“Containment”

The plasma apps will all jump to the top left as well maybe it is a bug or a
feature?
