adding wallpaper to my wallpaper folder

i have 12.1 .3.1.0-1.2-desktop x86_64 kde 4.7.2 (4.7.2) “release 5”. i searched for wallpaper and found 4 or 5 wallpaper folders that show up in find files and folder. it doesnt look as easy as adding a jpg or png to \windows\web\wallpaper in windows.

opensuse seems to have jpg files in a folder and then a single jpg file outside the content folder. is it s easy as adding just a jpg or png file to the wallpaper folder? will that automatically add the photo to where i change my wallpaper in view tab desktop setting plasma desktop shell…

which of the several wallpaper folders do i use and which is the location

file:///home/suse/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme/internal-system-colors/wallpapers
file:///usr/share/wallpapers
file:///home/suse/.kde4/share/wallpapers
file:///var/tmp/kdecache-suse/plasma-wallpapers/usr/share/wallpapers
file:///home/suse/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme/default/wallpapers
file:///home/suse/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme/internal-system-colors/wallpapers

I use a local folder for all my wallpaper
It’s easy as pie

In KDE, right click on the desktop and select Desktop Settings. That
allows you to change wallpaper, download new ones, set up a slideshow,
and set folders to choose from, etc.

i would like to add my own in the folder where they are stored that they will show up in the desktop setting folder where i can pick the ones i add

If you want wallpapers to show up in the wallpaper picker dialog, add them to ~/.kde4/share/wallpapers. Took me ages to figure that out.

thats awesome… works great

Thanks!
