Addin XFCE to 10.3

Howdy!

What I want to do is add XFCE to my existing SUSE 10.3 KDE install.
I’m sure it’s as easy as going to the rep and adding this, but will it update my lgon menu as well?

Thanks for the info

Just add the repo and check to install the XFCE pattern in Software
Management. XFCE will be added to your Session options on whichever
(probably kdm) login manager you use.

Thanks for the quick reponse!

it is easy to get xfce on your computer.

Once you are in and running xfce you will want to run

xfwm4

you can type that into the console in there to get it running. It makes the window manager much better with minimize maximize and far more features. I guess if you are a true minimalist you may not want to run that window manager in xfce, but to me minimize is essential in a desktop environment.

I guess if you can’t run xfwm4 in xfce you can check to see if that was installed by default too when you put in xfce
